Granny Square

HELLO !
I have been practicing my granny squares but they are still all lumpy and circley [un-square]. They are getting better though ! It is so fun to just sit there and make them. I love projects that don't take too much time :)

Check out what I have to far :
This picture inspires me to keep practicing :

I just love the colors in this picture ! It makes me want to keep on going !!
Check out her blog here to see all of the awesome crochet she does !

If you are looking for some different patterns for granny squares I found this awesome download over at The Itsy Bitsy Spider. The patterns are a little more advanced, hopefully with some practice I will get better !

ps. I think I may have my serger working, so I hope to do some projects soon. We will see how it goes. I only have this week because I start working next week. I will still have time to do stuff.. just less time!

  2. You'll get the hang of grannies soon! When I was a kid, my Mom taught me to crochet by making me do each step until it was perfect. I swear I had a 50ft. chain. Then I hand a huge block of single crochet, then double... and so on. I learned grannies the same way... repetition. Practice makes perfect! Good luck!

  4. This looks exactly like the crochet quilt that my grandmother used to make when we were little. She's now almost 100 y.o. Brings back memories.
