DIY Hair Styles: using a hair comb

 Hello! I recently made a few of these yarn covered hair combs and I wanted to show you the different ways I wear them in my hair. All of these hair styles are super simple and fast. 

1. This is where I swoop all my hair to the side and out the clip in the back. In this photo I braided the remaining hair that was left down. Sometimes I also tease the top part of it to give it more body.  

2. Slide your hair over to one side (the opposite way that your bangs go). I like this for a quick way to get my hair out of my face.  

3. Swish your hair up into a bump on the top of your head in order to get all your bangs back. 

4. Spin your hair up into a bun on the top of your head and use the comb to hold it in place on the back.  

5. This is much like #1, except your leave your hair down and tease it on the side instead of braiding it.  

Tip: if you find that the comb is staying in, try teasing your hair and then putting it in. This gives you more body and helps it to stay. Also, add lots of hair spray, I love hair spray!

just some bows..

I saw a really cute picture of a red bow today and it inspired me to [finally] make these bows I have been meaning to make. I found this diy on a Beautiful Mess, you can check it out here.

Here are a few pictures of what I have done so far. They are so easy so I am planning on making many more. I think they turned out really cute.

Two of them are bobby pins and the other one is a hair elastic. 

I can't decide which way I like it better...

I am really excited about them ! It will be a great study break activity since this next week is going to be packed with studying. This means that my posts may not be as frequent because of all the work I will [should] be doing. However, when I am done my first year of University I will have tons of time to make stuff and blog, and hopefully start my Etsy shop ! I am soooo excited about that. It is going to be so awesome to have four months of summer ! Even though I will be working to pay for next year of school. I will have to do a post on my summer job ! Wait till you see my uniform [something to look forward to for sure].

Ps. Today is mine and Joshua's 2 year anniversary [of dating] !

We are celebrating by getting a couple of TV dinners..

Kaila's Birthday [yesterday]

Yesterday was my friend Kaila's birthday. I bought her some lovely earrings that I found at the market, but then remembered that she doesn't really wear earrings [I should be a better friend] So now I have new earrings and Kaila has a bunch of stuff I made her. I always feel weird making people things for their birthday, I am not sure why. I guess I feel like I am ripping them off by not buying them something, but then I have to remember that it's the thought that counts. A lot more thought went into Kaila's new gift then her old one [the earrings]. 

Here is the card I made her ! I thought it was quite creative myself :

I made the little buttons and the flower on the front with paint and then printed them out and cut them out ! Then I used the poladroid maker [aka my favorite thing ever] to make a cute little poladroid of us. I was very much inspired by this post on a Beautiful Mess.

I also made her a bracelet and some hair pins and put them in this cute little envelope :

I just took a piece of paper and drew little squiggles on the front with some sharpies [aka my other favorite thing ever] and then i folded it up with the goods inside and sewed up the sides [I had no tape so I had to sew up the sides, but I thought it turned out pretty awesome] Then I super glued [everyone should use super glue at least once a week.. I love to glue stuff] some buttons to the front ! I though this was an awesome way to improvise when you can't afford wrapping paper.

Hair Clips !

I made some hair clips today, trying to make some last minute things before its complete study time ! Ugh. It's not going to be fun at all. However, I am going home for the summer in less than three weeks! Wow the school year went by fast ! Hopefully I will still have time to do some blogging in between studying.. we shall see ! 

Anyways, for now I have these pretty hair clips :)
