Crochet Inspired Instagrams

I thought I would share some of my fave instagram photos that I have taken of crochet items. I am super into crocheting right now (maybe because if the weather) and so I take lots of photos of it! I am really into the chevron pattern right now! I have been making lots of infinity scarves out of it that I am hoping to sell at the local farmer's market soon. The second photo is of a blanket I am working on slowly. It is pretty huge so it is taking a while.

I have been thinking about doing some crocheting tutorials soon, would anyone be interested in learning anything specific to crocheting? ldc

Crayon Art

Over the Christmas break my friend Patrick decided he wanted to make a melted crayon thingy for his girlfriend (that is him in the photos). So I decided I would follow along and do one for my little sis (the sun burst one). They turned out really cool. I want to make another one for my room at school.

My only advice when doing this is if you use super glue to attach the crayons before melting them make sure the glue dries before you heat it up. I did not do this, and all of a sudden my eyes started watering like crazy because of the fumes. I had to stop, wait for it to dry and then keep going. Other then that it was pretty simple and fun (and pretty of course).

Owls & Owlets

Hello! My little Sis and I made these owls using toilet paper rolls. I got the idea from this photo on Pinterest. Little Sis did four and I did four :) All we did was 1) paint the toilet paper rolls and wait for them to dry. 2) fold the tops down to make the ears. 3) Draw the faces on with permanent marker. Super easy and super cute :)

Here is a picture of little Sis and the owls :) Ps. today is her eighth birthday!

Zipper Pouches

I made these a few weeks ago and since then I have made about 10 more as well as made huge ones into purses! I started selling them at a few different stores for fun :) I enjoy making them because you can do so many different colour combinations and styles! I have also been experimenting with lace a lot lately. I am hoping to get some pics of my new purses up here soon to show you because I am really quite proud of them! Have you been making anything lately?

Have a lovely day!

Hair Inspiration

I first saw pictures of this hair style on Honestly WTF. I quickly followed the link to see more photos because I thought this was such a cool idea! They put knitted yarn all through her hair and pulled the hair around it to make a type of bun! So cool! Would any of you ever try this?
Check it out here.

Ps. Enter the giveaways on the right! This one is ending soon!

Craft Day = Success

We had an awesome craft day this week (and not just because it ended in pizza either).
Kaila and I started a little company together called K.Lin where we sell Infini-Tees which are recycled tee shirts made into necklace scarves. Someone generously donated approx 200 white tee shirts to us that were left over from a fundraiser. Yesterday we got a start on making some new Infini-Tee designs for the market next weekend! Here are some photos!
Those are the pretty colours we used for some of the scarves. We also have some really pretty new valentines day inspired ones!
So we stuck paint in a bag with the tee shirt pieces and shook them up. It's really quite a fun process!
We got pretty covered in paint.
We ended up making a pretty big mess of my room haha.

George Potter loves craft day. He chilled with us the whole time...
Then we just had a bit of good old fun!
Just another craft day success!

When we get all of the infini-tees up and ready I will take some photos to show you! So far they look pretty awesome if I do say so myself! I am super excited for the market next weekend!

Happy Saturday!

Christmas Vacation Equals Relaxing and Crafting !

For the past couple of days I have been making slouchy hats! I want to get some better pictures outside in the snow, but the couch and the wood fire is just so comfy ! These hats are really fun and easy to make! Before this all I knew how to do was straight crochet, flowers and granny squares. I feel so accomplished !

What have you been up too?

Crafty Inspiration For the Break.

Hello ! So since I am home until January 8th from school, I have tons of time for crafts! I thought I would share some crafty inspirational photos from my we heart it account. I have a pile of photos to show you! I love them all.
Are any of you planning any crafts over the vacation?
So far I have made two slouchy hats from this pattern my mom bought me off etsy. It is pretty easy once I learned a few stitched from my grandmother and youtube. I really want to learn to make a hat like this one. Do any of you know of a good pattern?
