Hair Feathers

Hair feathers are the new big thing! They are so awesome! I can't wait to get some of my own. I found some wicked awesome hair feather resources for your enjoyment. But first let me get you addicted to the idea of hair feathers by showing you some amazing pictures...

Mhmm.. That's what I though... you totally need them now. You won't be able to get the thought out of your head, so don't even try, it's not worth the effort. The best thing about hair feathers is that you can curl em, straighten em, and wash em! Amazing, it's like real hair but way better!

On the Mr.Kate website is an amazing tutorial and list of places online to buy supplies to get your own hair feathers. I seriously recommend checking it out here. Stay tuned for more awesome hair week posts!

The Dainty Squid :: Hair Dying Tips & Tricks

Hello! Dying your hair bright purple or green may seem terrifying to you, but in truth it's so worth it! If you are thinking about taking the plunge but need that extra push you should check out The Dainty Squid's tips and tricks on hair dying. It is split up into parts one, two and three.

The first section is about bleaching your hair. I am actually a bit scared to do this myself so I go get it done at the hair dressers first and then do the dying myself, which brings us to part two: dying your hair. Then the third part is a miscellany section that includes some of her fave products and how to keep your hair bright for longer.
I think this pic is so cute! I haven't worked myself up to being able to dye my whole head a fun color yet, but this photo almost convinces me! Happy Hair Week! xo ldc

Hello everyone! I hope that you are enjoying hair week! It is time that we talk about the beautiful hair of Elycia from LoveElycia. She has some awesome hair and some awesome tutorials to go with it!
I love this tutorial on how to get big hair because it is a nice hairdo that you can get with short hair! A lot of hair tutorials out there are done with long hair so it's great when you find somet that will work with shorter hair.

I also recomend that you check out this awesome DIY with ric rac. It's super simple, versitile.. and cute!

Hair Week :: Ombre Hair

Continuing on with a week of hair tips, styles, inspiration and ideas I would like to introduce you to ombre hair. Definition: The hair world borrowed the term 'Ombre' from the french word meaning shaded or shading. Ombre hair color is generally darker at the roots through the mid-shaft and then gradually gets lighter from the mid-shaft to the ends. It is usually achieved using a balayage technique and is ideal for clients looking for a low-maintenance style.
This style is low maintenance because it doesn't matter if it grows out becuase that just adds to the style! Therefore, no root touch ups needed and you have a cool new stryle! Here are a few photos I love:

Or you can go safer and use these colours....

but I say go big or go home.

Here is a tutorial on how to get your own ombre hair. I think I might do this when I get to school. I can't do it during the summer because we are not allowed to have crazy hair like this at work! haha. xo ldc

The Messy Bun tutorial is awesome! It's so easy to do and it super cute! I have tried this out myself and I really liked it. It worked well for those mornings where I had no ambition to take time on my hair!

The Maiden Braid tutorial is my altime fave hair tutorial from Elsie! This girl has super long hair so not all of us can get this exact same look. I have tried this before with medium length hair and it worked great! You can see a pic here.

I recomend that you check out all of Elsie's Hair Tutorials on her blog. She has many that are versitile as well as many that fit different styles from bohemian to 1950s. Good luck in trying some of these out on yourself! xo ldc

It wasn't until easter was getting nearer and I realized (or more specifically was told) that my hair was too eastery. hehe. So I dyed dark brown over the rainbow colours and have been stuck with boring brown ever since. I thought that it might be nice to try out orange next! So here are some inspirational photos of orange hair! What do you think? xo ldc

Hair Week :: Fish Tail Braid

I first loved the idea of a fish tail braid when I saw this photo:
It even comes with an amazing video on how to do this (and the song is pretty catchy too!)

These are great for summer because they are so stylish and easy looking! If you want a more detailed video with explaning how to do this check out youtube for some awesome ones! Once you get the hang of it they aren't too bad. It's easiest with long less layered hair. And you will prob need someone else to do it for you! Let me know if you try this out! xo ldc

Hair Week Blog Event!

Welcome to the Hair Week Blog Event! For those of you who have followed my blog for a little while you know that I love doing and dying my hair! During the summer I have to keep my hair plain jane because of my summer job. Therefore, I am going nuts not being able to dye my hair a funky color or get something cool like hair feathers! This inspired me to put together a large collection of hair inspiration posts that I hope you will enjoy.

Along with my hair being boring I thought it would be great to do this at the end of August since everyone is going back to school and what not. I always feel like I need a new hairstyle before I start school. Therefore hopefully these posts will inspire you and me both to do something fantastic to our hair for September!

What to look forward to this week: Hiar tutorials and inspiration from your favorite bloggers. DIY's for awesome hair styles & Inspiration for different hair styles and colors!

Hold on tight cause your head is about to explode with awesome inspiration (that's almost a pun isn't it?).
