How To Make a Header Using Only Paint

I have always used paint to make my headers and I have always had a lot of fun doing it. I thought it was time I showed you how I do it. Now, I have a mac so it will be different than a PC, but I know a few tricks on the PC that will do the same thing as a mac.

MAC: The mac has this lovely shortcut using Command+Shift+4. Using this command will allow you to copy a picture of anything you want.

PC: The PC has a button called "print screen". This button allows you to take a picture of the whole screen. This is what you will need to do to make your header.

Step One:
MAC: Line your pictures up the way you want them in your header and then using the command+Shit+4 click down and drag the cross thingy over the part you want to take the picture of. (see next 2 photos)

PC: Line your pictures up the way you want them for your header (like the picture below) and press "print screen".
On a MAC you can get this picture in one step. On a PC there is another step: See Step TWO

Step Two:
MAC: Now open the picture up into your paint program. If you don't have paint for MAC you can download it here.
PC: Now on a PC you will have a picture of the full screen not just the part you want. So you will have to open up that picture into paint and then crop it to what you want. Then copy what you have cropped and paste it into a new paint window.

This is Paint on MAC.

Step Three:
PC + MAC: Now that we have our picture ready it is time to put the name of you blog or whatever else you want to write on it. I get all of my fonts from DaFont.com. My new fave is "never let go". That's the one I am using in my header right now.  Now it is all up to you and what you want to do!
All that is left is too...
  1. pick out your font
  2. type in your blog name
  3. put where it looks awesome on your image

Step Four:
Save+Enjoy your new header!

You don't really need an expensive editing program to make a header. It can all be done on paint!
Let me know if you have any problems or questions! Also, leave a link if you make a new header!

  5. Thanks so much for this. I've been wanting to redo my banner for Etsy and my header for my blog, but don't have any fancy programs. And Powerpoint was just too difficult. Am anxious to try this.
