Barbara’s Granola Recipe

4 Cups Old Fashioned Oats (NOT QUICK OATS)
1/3 cup Vegetable Oil (Canola)
1/3 cup Honey
1/3 cup Brown Sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp Cinnamon

In bowl combine Oats, Brown Sugar, Salt, and Cinnamon. Heat in sauce pan Honey & Vegetable Oil until it melts, and then stir in vanilla. Pour mixture over ingredients in bowl and mix together. Mix in extras of your choice such as dried cranberries, dried apricots, peanuts, almonds etc.

Preheat oven to 300oF, spray 2 or 3 cookie sheets with non stick cooking spray and spread granola thinly all over pans. Cook for about 15 minutes or until slightly golden, cooking time may vary depending on desired crunchiness. When you take out of the oven stir granola so it doesn’t stick to the pan, as it cools it will become crunchier. Once cool store in an air tight container.
