It is getting to be that time again! I have been addicted to looking at swimwear lately, even on Pinterest. I think I have found the best site yet. It is called ASOS and it's a UK site I believe, but they will put the prices into US dollars for you! Not all of the suits in the above picture were found there though. #4 is from a beautiful handmade site on Etsy! I am really into the high wasted suits this year so I am looking for one that will match all of my bikini tops.. might end up going plane black, but the chevron is quite nice also! 5 Ways I Stay Motivated to Exercise

Lately I have been working to keep motivated with going to the gym. I have been going every other day for about three weeks now. There have been many times that I have started going to the gym and promised myself I would keep up with it. Unfortunately, I have always failed at that up until now. So, I started thinking about what it was that kept me going this time that I wasn't doing the last million times I tried going. So here are the five ways I am staying motivated to go to the gym (this time):

1. Make yourself feel guilty: Along with going to the gym I am also trying to eat less and healthier. When I miss my gym day or eat something fatty and greasy I make a point of making myself feel guilty about it. This probably sounds weird, but it seems to work for me. I hate feeling guilty thus I go to the gym.

2. Keep track of your progress: This does not mean check your weight every day and write it down. Thanks to my boyfriend, I have started to write down what I do at the gym, how long I am there, how far I ran and how much weight I lifted. By doing this I can see what I did the week before and then I know if I am doing better or worse.

3. Find the right person: It really helps when you can exercise with someone else. You can motivate each other and bug each other to go to the gym. You have to choose the right person to go to the gym though, you don't want someone who you are going to feel like you need to compete against, or someone who isn't as motivated as you and wants to leave halfway through your workout. When you do find the right person to workout with it really helps you to stay on track.

4. Get a routine: Many people know that it helps you to go to the gym if you work it into your routine, but what about your gym routine? My boyfriend recently became a physical trainer (yay!) and so he has the knowledge to be able to create a gym workout for me. You may not be able to do this, but it doesn't mean you can't make one yourself. If you write down what you want to work on and what machines/exercises you want to do then you can keep a gym routine. Then what I do is keep track of how long I run and how much weight I lift on those exercises each time I am there. This helps me to keep on track and motivates me to do better the next week.

5. Don't get discouraged: Just because you are not loosing weight does not mean it is not working. If you are exercising then you are getting healthier. My first week I lost five pounds, now I am not loosing any. I am still doing the same thing but I am building muscle, therefore I am getting healthier, just not lighter.

So, there are the five things I do to try and keep myself motivated at the gym. Although, another great thing to do is look at the fitness section on Pinterest.. that really helps too hehe. Let me know what you do to stay motivated, or what you find keeps you from being motivated!

Blogger App Review : Using the blogger app

Hello! I thought I would do a review of the blogger app for those of you that have an apple product or are thinking about getting one. I figured what better way to review the Blogger App then to use it to write this post?

What I like about the blogger app:
- it makes blogging easy on the go.
- I can easily use my instagram photos with blogging.
- its free... So you don't really loose anything is trying it.

What I don't like about the blogger app:
- I can't figure out how to place my own photos. It just sticks them on the end of the post.
- I can't make the photos extra large so they don't fill up my post column like the rest of my pictures.

Overall this is a good app for on the go. However, your posts will need a little bit of TLC after the fact. So it's really up to you! I do believe this is a new app so they might make some updates that improve it.

Crayon Art

Over the Christmas break my friend Patrick decided he wanted to make a melted crayon thingy for his girlfriend (that is him in the photos). So I decided I would follow along and do one for my little sis (the sun burst one). They turned out really cool. I want to make another one for my room at school.

My only advice when doing this is if you use super glue to attach the crayons before melting them make sure the glue dries before you heat it up. I did not do this, and all of a sudden my eyes started watering like crazy because of the fumes. I had to stop, wait for it to dry and then keep going. Other then that it was pretty simple and fun (and pretty of course).

Using Instagram Photos for Facebook Timeline

Hello! So with the new facebook timeline comes lots of new great ideas for your cover photo. I decided that I would use my instagram photos to make a new look! It is pretty easy for those of you who want to try it. The hardest part is getting the spacing right.

If you want to try this the dimensions are: 850px by 315px

The top image is the one I tried first, however I forgot that your actual display picture would cover over the image. So I made a second one (below) with a spot for my display pic to fit in.

Feeling Better Already

For those of you who follow my blog, you may have noticed that I change the look of it quite a bit. You may have also noticed that I just changed it again.

I sometimes find that I loose inspiration with my blogging and that giving it a new look sparks my interest a little bit. It is a lot like rearranging my room (something else I like doing). So with the new year, comes new ideas, new blog posts and new design. I have a few ideas lined up for the upcoming months and I am also thinking of starting a inspirational blog book, as many bloggers have.

My First "Voluntary Quarantine"

Hey! So when I wrote this post I was half way through my trip in BC for a student journalism conference. What ended up happening was not expected at all! Novo Virus (also known as Norwalk Virus) broke out at the hotel resulting in a "voluntary quarantine."So at first we were not able to leave our rooms and had to separate the healthy from the sick. Then we watched the twitter updates roll in to see what we were going to do as most of us were flying out the next day. Later in the afternoon some guys with masks came to our door and said "if you aren't sick then you need to leave the hotel." I was like what? I have no where to go! I ended up leaving with another girl I met at the conference and we found a hotel near the airport where we could stay. So it ended up being quite a memorable trip.. to say the least.

Hello! It's been a while since I blogged last since Christmas was so busy.
I really want to show you all some of my Popsicle creations with my new Zuko! It makes Popsicles in 7-9 minutes. It's amazing :) You can make so many awesome combinations. Here are some photos of my creations.

I would also let you know that I am trying out the new blogger app for iPhone to see how it works. So I am not sure how this post will turn out. Do any of you use this app? Pros or cons? Is there a better blogging app?

Owls & Owlets

Hello! My little Sis and I made these owls using toilet paper rolls. I got the idea from this photo on Pinterest. Little Sis did four and I did four :) All we did was 1) paint the toilet paper rolls and wait for them to dry. 2) fold the tops down to make the ears. 3) Draw the faces on with permanent marker. Super easy and super cute :)

Hello! So this week (in between studying for exams) we did a 30 minute photoshoot with some of our good friends. All of us have known each other since 1st year (now in 3rd).

In the back and white photo below there is Josh (my boyfriend), Hillary (my first Acadia friend, actually friends since before Acadia.. we met over Skype haha), Me, Kaila (my roommate and bff), Erin (Friends since first year) and Andrew (we met the first day at Acadia).

It's nice to have friends from your first week of school because there are so many great things that happened that we can talk about all over again :) Of course there are more of us that could be in this photo... but they were busy being good students and actually studying.

What I Want Wednesday

This watch! I don't really wear a watch (because I use my cell phone) but I think I would wear one if it looked like this! This color is sooo pretty :) It tells time in a different way then other watches. The dots tell the hour, the bar tells the minutes and then the number below tells the seconds. Therefore, I think it might be more fashionable then reasonable.. which is A-OK with me!

As some of you probably know, the month of November is also known as Movember. This is where men grow moustaches to support prostate cancer. Kaila and I decided we also wanted some moustances, so we grew our own.. took about five minutes. Then we did a photoshoot wearing them :)

I think I have mentioned that I am the Photo Editor for my University news paper. There was an article about Movember, and I used this as the image. :)

Boys are wishing they could grow a stach like that..

Well Hello There Monday!

Hello Everyone! Today is my last Monday of classes of the semester, and also probably going to be the worst week yet. I can't explain to you the happiness I will feel Thursday night (I have no Friday classes). This has been a crazy semester since I am in my third year and just beginning my minor in Business. Also being part of the school paper has added to my busyness, but in a good way. I wish I had the time to do more crafty things and more photography, but someone once told me school work comes first and for some I listened (well.. partially). So when Christmas break comes, aka the light at the end of the tunnel, I will start to do much better blogging, and more pretty crafty things, I really will try. But until then, you will have to deal with this lovely photo of me:

This was from our first day of snow this year! It was also a huge amount of snow and they cancelled some classes. That twas a good day! Ps. Hat credit goes to my boyfriend.. While walking down the road a cab driver stopped to tell me he liked my hat haha! Anyways, that's it for now. It is time to study...

Hello! I am really trying to get back into the swing of things with my series posts. It's been a little while since I've done my photo tip friday posts, so I thought I would do one because I've found a lot of awesome links lately!

Today I am sharing with you a link for 101 Portrait Tips that I found via Pinterest.

Here are a few of my faves from the article:

Sometimes when you are addicted to fonts, you'll do anything to use them.. such as this pictures I made. Today I found THE BEST list of vintage fonts, and I love each and every one of them. Halloween as a cupcake

I decided to pull out the old instax camera for halloween! We took photos of everyone in their costumes at my house. We had a fun time. Then we had a nice little dance party in the kitchen (below). My roommate and I were cupcakes and our friend Hill was a skittles package :)

To make the cupcake costumes we used the sun reflectors for car windows and then cut a cupcake shape out of a bag and added pretty "sprinkles". Then we had to duct tape them to ourselves! We had cherry clips in our hair too!

So I saw a pic of this fantastic idea a little while back on Pinterest, and while I was looking through my craft stuff I found some magnet strips and decided to try it out! All you have to do is get some sticky magnet strips and stick them to something close to where you do your hair and voila, a boby pin holder! I do my hair right at my desk so I stuck mine to the bottom of my tack board. So simple and convenient. I love Pinterest! xo ldc

Photoshop Tutorial: Color your text with an image

Hello! I thought I would share with you a simple but useful Photoshop tutorial on how to color your text or a photo you have drawn with an image. I have the steps written out and the step number corresponds to the number in the image below. If you have any questions at all feel free to ask either by commenting or by emailing me! Ps, if you are wondering how I drew those images (the flowes/ldc) above, check out this post.

Step one: Once you are in Photoshop open up a new blank file. Usually I just use the standard size of paper to start with.
Step Two: Create a layer mask over your background. This is where you will draw/type your picture.
Step Three: make your image. You can draw or type whatever you want, but keep it on that layer.
Step Four: Open up the image that you want to use as color for your image. (ex. for my buttons under my header I used a picture of fabric over my words)
Step Five: Put that picture however you want over the layer that you drew on.
Step Six: Make sure you have your colored layer (ie. the image you want the color from) selected and then go to Layer>Create clipping mask. This will make it so that everything you have under that layer comes up in that color.
Step Seven: Save it!

In this photo you can see that I have created two layer masks: one with text and one with a photo that I drew. This is the steps I used to create the image at the top of this post. xo ldc

Seriously school... two midterms, two huge assignments, three group projects, and four meeting? It's going to be a crazy week...

However, it is true that in between chapters and such I like to go off to Pinterest and take my mind off my studying for a few. I think it helps me refocus (as long as I'm not too distracted for too long).

Bullying Awareness Week at Acadia

Hello! So here are a couple pictures that I took at the Bullying Awareness event put on by Acadia Pride. Today a lot of people on campus dressed up in purple to support bullying against the LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender) community as well as anyone else who has been bullied. They had all these balloons with hurtful words on them that they cut and let go, and then there was one balloon left with a positive word on it after the others had flown away. It was really cool to have something like this on campus! xo ldc

Campus Photography

The big thing at our school is to get your photos taken on the sign out front of the school. Pretty much everyone has at least one photo of themselves on this sign. So a couple of friends asked me if I would do a few photos for them and I like the way they turned out. I would like to start doing this a little more often. I LOVE actions

Hello! So I recently purchased photoshop actions from Paint the Moon Photography. For those of you who do not know what actions are, they are basically things that you download and put in your Photoshop and then you click on them and the automatically edit your photos using different techniques.
It took me a long time to figure out which ones to get because they sell so many awesome ones! I finally decided to get a bundle that included the Moxie and Blessings action sets. I am so so so happy with them! They are so fun to experiment with. You can mix and match them, or add them and change the opacity to get a different look. It seriously makes your photo editing experience so much more fun!
Before, when I was editing I knew how to do a few things and I would experiment to get the look that I wanted. With these actions you can get that perfect look and you can edit it to your liking. The other awesome thing about them is you can see all the different layers that are added to your picture so you can learn from them. Some of the payers are adding things that I either didn't know existed or I didn't know how to do. So if you are thinking about getting them, or not thinking about getting them I highly recommend that you get them!

Rainy Day Photoshoot

Hello! I wanted to share with you some photos from a fun photoshoot my friend and I did yesterday, in the rain. It was a pretty fun experience, since I had never done a photoshoot in the rain before. All of the photos of me were taken by my friend (Simone). And all the photos of her were taken by me.

It was so fun to practice photography again since I have been so busy with school work! I wish I could do it more. ps. This first photo makes me look super tall, however I am super short (5,1) hehe.

Through My Hipstamatic Lens // Day Trip

Last Sunday a few of my friends and I took a little road trip to so some hiking. I took a few shots with my iPhone along the way and wanted to share them with you.

So we ended up going hiking for a bit, then had lunch, and then decided we wanted to get out on the water. So we rented a kayak and a canoe and went out for a little while. We ended up exploring a cute little island. It was pretty fun!

Mhmm.. That's what I though... you totally need them now. You won't be able to get the thought out of your head, so don't even try, it's not worth the effort. The best thing about hair feathers is that you can curl em, straighten em, and wash em! Amazing, it's like real hair but way better!

Pretty Nails ::

I painted my nails all pretty the other day. The gold one is a Sally Hansen stick on. They work so well! I have the sparkle ones and the flower ones. I had them on for over a week and they would have stayed longer if I hadn't gotten bored of them hehe. I recommend getting them if you like having pretty nails.

I have been so busy with school stuff lately so I have less time to blog. I just started my minor in Business and I am super excited! Although I love my Environmental and Sustainability degree I feel that minoring in Business is just another strep towards what I love to do in life, which is make pretty stuff and then sell it! Adventures with the School News Paper

Hey everyone! So I am the new Photo Editor for my school's news paper the Athenaeum. Basically I get photo requests from the different sections in the paper and then I either take the photos and edit them or get volunteers to take photos. I thought I would share some of the photos I took this week that may be going in the paper.

This first photo is of Joel Plaskett my fave singer! He is Canadian but becoming pretty famous all over. This was my fourth time seeing him and it was awesome. I was trying to get a good photo but I happen to be really short so I asked the sound guys if I could stand on the cases for their equipment and they let me. That's how I got this wicked shot! I love it.

This photo is of the theater and coffee shop downtown. So when you walk in you are first in a coffee shop (my fave coffee shop) and then out back is the theater. It's one of the best places in town to have meetings and little study groups or just hang out with friends and gossip, hehe.

This last one is our new market building. The market used to be in our student union building on campus, but they recently renovated this building and moved the market here. It's a really great market with a huge range of stuff. They also open it on Wednesday nights now too which is awesome.

So those are my three faves for this week. I don't know if they will make the paper but I still love them! Happy Monday! ldc

First Day of School for Lil' Sis

Chloe started grade two last week. She was all decked out in purple and lookin' cute. It's fun being 12 years apart because she starts school and then I go off to university right after. I actual started university the same week she started kindergarten. She sure knows how to make me feel old : She once asked me "Sis, when I am 20 how old will you be?" I answered "32..." haha. It's fun to have such a little sister, although we do have our share of fights, she hits me and it hurts, I hit her and she laughs.. there's something wrong there. But I still miss her when I am away at school!

Here are some of my fave Chloe quotes:

"Mom, why are you drinking and driving?" Mom: "It's coffee, it's allowed" Chloe: "oh"

"Sissy, is disco stick a bad word?" (referring to the Lady Gaga song of course)

"Today it was sooo hot in the gym that my eyes were watering, and there wasn't even any onions around!"

Lights in the Dark

Hey guys! I was just playing around with my camera last night and I ended up taking these photos. I will show better daytime pics of room soon, but I thought I would show you these first! If you are interested in what settings I used for these, I put my camera in shutter speed priority (the S on my camera) and I tested out different shutter speeds. I didn't use a tripod (but you should) so some of them were a bit blurry from moving. I also had an ISO of 800.

For this last photo I put my camera on manual focus and un-focused it to get this bokeh effect! Hope you have a lovely Wednesday! I am off to my first class of my third year in a couple of hours! xo ldc

What I Have Been up Too :: According to my iPhone

Hello! So I have been a little absent in the blogging world lately and it is because I have been so busy lately getting ready for school! So I thought I would share some photos from my iPhone to give you an idea of what I have been doing.

A few weeks ago I went boating with my Dad and my Step Mom. We took supper with us and ate while floating in the middle of the river. It was a perfect day! I have some nice photos of this that I will hopefully share soon!

I spent a lot of time at the lake with my dad this summer since our family has property there and it's halfway between my house and his house. While we are there we do a lot of canoeing (but not your average canoeing, photos to come!). We also seem to do a lot of eating ha! My dad has been going to this spot on the lake since he was little. So while I was there one time this summer he found his old goggles! I thought they were pretty cool so I took a pic!

This is Sunni, I just think she's cute so I took a pic of her! ps. we have the same birthday :)

This is Peanut. She is Sunni's aunt. Don't worry, she always looks sad like this. We used to call her Eeyore dog cause she hunches over all sad haha.

So this is a photo of myself and all of my bags that my grandmother sells for me at the market. I don't think I ever really explained what LDC Designs is, I should probably do that, but in short it is the name of my tiny sewing company. I sell my things in two different stores as well as at the market where I got to school, and my grandmother sells my things at a market she goes to. I will work on doing a post to explain this better! I just thought this photo was cool because it had all the pretty fabrics in it!

Last week my friend (and co-worker) Lauren and I went to Campobello for the day. For those of you (which is probably most of you) who don't know what Campobello is, it's an island where FDR had his summer cottage. Now it is a park where you can visit. It is actually in Canada but very close to the US, so they have American and Canadian people who work there. It is a super pretty place with awesome flowers! I actually have no digital photos of this trip because I forgot my camera battery, but I happened to have a film camera so when I get that developed I will share!

This is a photo of the wall paper in one of the cottages on Campobello Island. It is now my phone background. Pretty funky ha!

So now we come to this photo! As I said above I have been busy because I have been getting ready for school. So, to get from my house in Maine to school in Nova Scotia it takes about 6 hours of driving, a little more with stops and what not. So when you enter Nova Scotia it's about the halfway point, so that is what this photos is of. I will share photos of my room soon!

So throughout the next couple of weeks I will be posting photos of some of the things I did this summer that I didn't have time to post about before! I am also starting classes tomorrow at school so I will do some posts to let you know a little about my school and what I am doing this year and what not! I hope you have a lovely Tuesday! xo ldc

Hair Week :: Ombre Hair

Continuing on with a week of hair tips, styles, inspiration and ideas I would like to introduce you to ombre hair. Definition: The hair world borrowed the term 'Ombre' from the french word meaning shaded or shading. Ombre hair color is generally darker at the roots through the mid-shaft and then gradually gets lighter from the mid-shaft to the ends. It is usually achieved using a balayage technique and is ideal for clients looking for a low-maintenance style.
This style is low maintenance because it doesn't matter if it grows out becuase that just adds to the style! Therefore, no root touch ups needed and you have a cool new stryle! Here are a few photos I love:

The Beehive tutorial is awesome! It looks so cute on this girl. I don't think that I myself would be able to pull it off, but if you have the hair and the guts to try it out yourself you should!

The Messy Bun tutorial is awesome! It's so easy to do and it super cute! I have tried this out myself and I really liked it. It worked well for those mornings where I had no ambition to take time on my hair!

The Maiden Braid tutorial is my altime fave hair tutorial from Elsie! This girl has super long hair so not all of us can get this exact same look. I have tried this before with medium length hair and it worked great! You can see a pic here.

During the summer I have to keep my hair plain jane because of my summer job. Therefore, I am going nuts not being able to dye my hair a funky color or get something cool like hair feathers! Hello! I have been using my hipstamatic iPhone camera for a little while now and I wanted to share a few of my fave photos that I have taken. I thought I might make it into a weekly feature and see how it goes. I love the way all the photos turn out! I feel like I am cheating on my DSLR a little bit though haha. I need to keep reminding myself that it is still important to use a real camera as well! But anyways, here are my faves:

This is a pic of my Dad and Step Mom's trailer when we went camping last week.

While we were camping we visited an antique store and I took this photo of a bunch of antique bottles.

We went to the dock and there was this huge boat there. I am not exactly sure what it was doing there but I thought it looked cool!

This sign made me giggle a little.

This is my little sis at our town pool. She was laughing because she drank all my water on me and thought it was funny.

This makes me smile so much! I think she looks a bit like an avatar in this photo haha.

This was at the pool where my boyfriend works. I brought her over there the other day because they have a water slide. She spent the whole time going down the slide, to the ladder and back to the slide. She must have gone down in 50 times in two hours.

Here is a photo of Joshua and I in Portsmouth New Hampshire on Monday. We went on vacation there for a few days this week to visit some family from New York!

[Online Role Models]

Online there are many people I look up to, mostly because they are working to follow their dreams and doing their dream jobs rather than the conventional types of employment. I find myself wondering if I will be able to take the risks they do when I am older or whether or not I will end up in a "regular person" job. I do love my degree in Environmental and Sustainability, and I can see myself working with communities or companies to become more sustainable. However, it is my second choice to something like owning my own store and making a living from the things I create. This is why I wanted to show you a few of the people I dream of being like, my online role models.

The first person I would like to introduce (although everyone already knows her) is Elsie Larson. Through following her blog you can see that she lives her dream life every day. Many people wish to have the success she has had in owning her own business. How she finds the time to continue blogging with everything else she does is beyond me. She is a role model to me because she creates such beautiful things and has such a lovely imagination. She is such an inspiration to so many, and she does it just by following her own style! The second person I would like to introduce is Promise Tangeman. She is an amazing graphic designer who stays true to her style. Not only are her graphic designs amazing but she has a wicked style that she is not afraid to hide! Her hair is always twice as large as mine and twice as awesome, seriously. She is a role model to me because I love the blogging world and I love designing blogs and she does all this for a living, and she does it in style! The third person I would like to introduce you to is one of my all time favorite photographers, Kimberly Scott. She takes the most beautiful photos with a style all her own (notice how style is a theme in this post so far?). She has two adorable children who she takes beautiful pictures of all the time. Photography Class Snap Shots

Hello! So I thought I would share with you all some of my fave photos I took at my photography class last Saturday. In our first class we were learning about aperture, ISO and shutter speed. These photos were all taken using the lowest possible aperture setting on my camera. This week for homework I have to practice taking other photos using the same aperture setting. Photo Tip Friday // Fun Photo Effect

Hello Everyone! I thought I might share with you this fun photo effect! As I mentioned before, I bought a fish eye lens off amazon for about 20 dollars. It was seriously worth it! I have so much fun playing with it! But I thought I would show you one of the cool effects I came up with for using it.

What I did was take my lens and hold it out from the camera instead of actually attached to the camera. This made some parts look out of focus and others in focus. It was super fun to try out different angles.

I think that next time I will try painting my nails all cool and then doing it! Let me know if you try something like this out! xo ldc

I wasn't able to post this last Friday so I am doing it today :)

Hello! So I am super excited about my photo tip for today! It might make me look stupid though, I'm not sure haha! So to the point... I have always loved sun spots on photos. I am always trying to take a photo at the right angle so that I get those spots.. So far I have accomplished it with these three photos.

Now I totally love all three of these photos because of the awesome sun spots! But here comes the stupid part... apparently you can add these right on photoshop! So you don't even need to be outside to get a sun spot! Holay! Where I have I been? I found this awesome tutorial on Divas and Dreams (an awesome site full of photography tips by the way!) So now you can do them yourself by following like three simple steps! So now you can make crazy photos like this...

Insane! So easy! I can't believe I didn't know this before! My life is forever changed!

New Room ::

So, as I mentioned before, I have a house rented in Nova Scotia where I go to school. I am staying home in Maine for the summer so I just got up to spend some time with my friends and decorate my room a bit last weekend. I am super excited to really decorate my room and I have been thinking about what I am going to do constantly! So far I just have my furniture rearranged and a few posters up, nothing fancy. Do you guys have any great inspirational photos of rooms? I would love to see them!

I bought this black shelf from my friend. I love it so much! I can't wait to put all my pretty fabric and craft supplies on it! I always wanted a shelf like this and my friend was selling it so I jumped on that quickly! I wasn't sure how well it would fit in my room but it ended up fitting perfectly! I was so happy!!

Here you can see my closet and desk across from my bed. I also have one of those super comfy basket chairs at the end of my bed and my dresser is behind my door. I really am amazed that it all fit together so well! I can't wait to move in! I can't stop thinking about decorating! I really want some kind of canopy or something... hmmm.... xo ldc

Canada Day Shenanigans

Hello! Happy Sunday!

Canada day was Friday so I went up to Nova Scotia to spend the weekend with some of my friends! I rent a house there for school so I had a place to stay (I will show some pics of it later this week). We spent the day hanging out on the front lawn of the school. I took a bunch of photos and we just fooled around and ate snacks all day. I had lots of fun with my Fish Eye Lens. There are a few of the photos I edited of the day!

we took a billion jumping pics hehe. So fun!

We were hemping a bit, making some bracelets but we had no beads so we used fabric to make them look pretty instead. So this is just some pretty string from ripping the fabric.
I can make this into a DIY if anyone is interested?

Lobster Feast

Hello Everyone! So my family does some lobster trapping in Maine. The other night I went to my cottage to spend the night because it is only two minutes from my work so I get to sleep in an extra 7 minutes! Haha. Actually I went because the family was hanging out there! When I got there they had just cooked up a few lobsters so we each got one! I am one of those seriously gross lobster eaters where I like to tear them apart because I think it's part of the fun in eating them. This totally grosses Joshua out.

Chloe the Dancer

Here are a few photos from my little sisters Dance Recital a few weeks ago. She is so good at dancing that they put her right up front! She did such a great job. This blue dress was for her tap dancing number.

I did a bit of Dance when I was little but not for that long. I have been meaning to find the photo of me in my dress so I can put it beside hers.

I love love love this last dress! And the cute little hair clip that goes with it! This was for her ballet number. She is also very good at this! I hope she sticks with it because I think she could be really good at it when she gets older.

Hello everyone! I was doodling around on my computer last night and I ended up drawing a picture frame. And I thought I might share it with all of you. I am not exactly sure if I am sharing them the right way so I want you all to try them out and then let me know if they work or not!

LDC DESIGNS BAGS // a look into my new purse collection

Here is a look at my new purse collection! I started making these bags for a store in East Port Maine that wants to sell my things! So far I have these four made, but I am hoping to get a few more done before I bring them to the shop!

Below is a photo of my new tags! I love them so much. My Step Dads uncle makes them for me (that would make him my step great uncle, or great step uncle). He cuts them out for me and then I (well I mean josh) paints them for me! What do you think?

NEW :: Photo Tip Friday

Hello Everyone ! I decided to start a new feature called Photo Tip Friday. I decided to start this new feature for two reasons- One: I thought it would be fun to have a feature where I could share all of the fun photo links and photoshop discoveries I have collected over the last little while. I was going to start this a while ago when I had a huge list ready, however my hard drive was erased which means I lost that list and had to start over again! and Two: I have been totally slacking in the blog department so I thought this might put my butt in gear!
So for my first fun tip I thought I would share with you my new Fish Eye Lens! I just bought it off amazon and it is super fun to play with! Here are a few photos I have done so far:

This is a photo of me that I edited using the guided feature on photoshop to create a lomo effect.

In case you didn't know, I am a park ranger, so I took this photo while I was at work the other day. And no, the sign isn't really purple (sad face) it's brown, but I love purple so I changed it haha.

This is me standing beside my garden. To get this effect I just upped the contrast and brightness really high!

On all of these photos I cropped out the vignette that the lens leaves around the camera. I think I am going to have lots of fun with this new lens! Zipper Pouches

I made these a few weeks ago and since then I have made about 10 more as well as made huge ones into purses! I started selling them at a few different stores for fun :) I enjoy making them because you can do so many different colour combinations and styles! I have also been experimenting with lace a lot lately. I am hoping to get some pics of my new purses up here soon to show you because I am really quite proud of them! DIY Leather&Lace Bracelet

Hey everyone! I did this DIY for the Miss Yellow Shoes blog a little while back and I thought I would share it with you also. It is a super easy diy and it makes a really cute bracelet! All it takes is some leather & lace. Super simple! You can actually buy all that you need at wall-mart!

So lets get started!

First you will need to cut out a piece of lace about a half an inch shorter then your wrist. Then but out two pieces of leather twice the length of your wrist.

Now take one piece of leather and start weaving it through the edge of the lace.

Once you have done that, start doing it to the other side with the other piece of leather.

now tie a knot in both ends of the leather. Make sure you tie them around the size of your wrist, but just a tad bit larger!

Now to tie it on your wrist you will put one knot through the loop before the other knot. Like this...

Once you have it tied so that it fits well, cut off the extra leather after both knots.

And there you have it! A cute leather and lace bracelet in less than ten minutes! Try adding beads to the leather for a different look!

New Crochet Project!

Hello everyone! So I just wanted to show you my new crochet project that I am working on! As I was looking through weheartit.com for inspirational photos I cam across these photos of crochet vests.

I really wanted one but I couldn't find a site that sold one that I liked. So I decided to search around for a pattern. The best one I could find was this one.

It's a lot longer than I wanted and it doesn't have the awesome tassles. So I decided to change the pattern! I have just started working on it and I will let you know how it turns out! I am pretty excited. Have you been working on anything cool lately? xo ldc

Doodling on my Bamboo

So.. I got a Bamboo Pen and Touch for my birthday (thanks to Katie for telling me about it & thanks to mom for getting it for me!) I was trying to download the Bamboo program onto my computer when I realized my disk drive was broken so I am just getting to play with it now! I did some doodling in photoshop and it is super fun! I cant wait to see what else I can do with it! Here are some of my doodles.

I drew this for Joshua :) It was his idea to put the little bot of purple in it !

Good News & Bad News

So! I got my computer back (thats the good news). The bad news is that it came back with all of my files wiped off it (gasp). Apparently I was supposed to be informed that this was a possibility, however I do not remember being told so. I am trying extremely hard to be optimistic since I still love apple.. and they did fix my computer for free.. however, it is tough coming to the realization that everything you had on your computer for the best two years is gone. I am going to try and be positive by thinking that this is like a fresh start! I do have a hard drive, but I think I left it at school and it hadn't been updated in a while, but it will at least give me something. In the meantime, any new tunes I should download? Any cute screen savers floating around?

On the bright side, this is a cute photo!

Barefoot Sandals

I was looking through crochet photos on we heart is dot com and I found this photos of barefoot sandals and now I really want to make some! I am currently searching the internet for a pattern I like.. although I may just end up making my own pattern. I got back into making hats and made my own pattern for summer crochet slouchy hats. They are basically like my winter ones but are more "holey."

Alright! I had a little break and I searched and found this pattern. It's not as cool as the one above.. but I might be able to alter it a bit! Let me know if you have a cool pattern for these! If not, I will try and make one up and then I will post it!
